poetry & art

I’ve been working on my poetry project lately and I’m pretty much struggling to find inspirations. I really want to do well because the last poem I handed in… lets just say, it was not the best mark I got. I did re-hand the poem I did bad on, maybe my teacher will remark it and give me a better mark.

Why am I struggling? I feel like I can’t write from my ‘heart’, do you know what I mean? Well, actually, I don’t know what I mean myself… (I’m not making sense at all). I’ve pretty much lost confidence in poetry but we’ll see how it goes.

I’ve also been working on my art project. A piece on surrealism. I’ve been missing a lot of classes because of internship (co-op).. and hopefully I won’t fall too behind.

I pretty much have the image in my head, now the only thing to do is put it on paper, which is pretty hard to do…

Honestly, I haven’t picked up a pencil and drew in the longest time..

Anyways, it’s been a beautiful day, today! SPRINGGGGG AHHHHHH.

I find it very difficult to write down what is in my heart – that’s why I think I make photographs instead!

Okay weird, did my comment get in?

Well if not, here it goes again XD hehee

I do love surrealism art and writing too! I think that you should just let go when writing poetry. Don’t think of hindrances or anything and be honest. It doesn’t have to come from the heart. Just write what you feel.

Hope you get a better grade! :D

I actually understand you. They said when you write from the heart, the story is much beautiful. You know especially when you have the same experience the same in content. Most of the writers eg. Nicholas Sparks, their books comes actually from experience. You should maybe tried to remembered all those experience that you have and maybe you can come up with a good idea to write..

I followed you on twitter hope you can follow back. thanks. :)

It’s really hard to write poetry sometimes. No inspiration, you can’t write a good one. Is there anything that you can think of that you really like or inspired to do? I’m not much help in this. I, myself, can’t write poetry for beans. But I hope you have better luck than I do. Good luck!

Ahhh, I hate poetry! So hard & yeah. I totally get what you mean by not coming from the heart. I’m totally like that too! :) Oh well, I won’t become a poet or anything, haha.

Uhmm, AMERICA! :) Specifically LA, California. Or, near LA.

    Ahah, cool, Walmart! I guess it’s cheap — but I wouldn’t actually know… XD

Aw man, I looove poetry and I always write straight from the heart. Some people just aren’t good at writing or can’t write in the form of poetry. But it’s not for everyone!

I’ve seen so many surreal artworks and they’re always so amazing. I’m sure yours will be the same – you’ll figure it out somehow!

Last week I drew a picture of a person just copying from a photo… it was the first time I drew in ages too. It’s so weird. O_O I’m not a good artist at all.

    Wheee, it’s autumn here. :D

Yeah, they say opposites attract. There’s always more to talk about with friends when you have really varied interests.

Yeah I’ve been sleeping really late nowadays. -__- Dumb me. Sometimes the computer just keeps me up. ;_; But some people send me so many emails overnight, thinking I’m there. :/

YEAH I KNOW! :O Some people obviously leave comments just to get some back. It’s a bit rude. Most of the time you can tell that they’re just leaving a crappy rushed comment.

LOL I hope so! I’ll ace that class!

Good luck with the project~ :)

i guess i agree that it’s nice to write a poem from the heart…good luck with your projects.

Well, I guess, I’m more of a reader than a writer. I really suck at making poems. I don’t know. maybe i just lack inspiration, too :(

but i love reading poems, especially the ones by Pablo Neruda <3 awesome!

I’m completely rubbish at writing poetry but like reading them. Will you post your poem up once it’s done?

Good luck with the art piece, post some pictures afterwards.

well i suggest try writing about something meaningful/related to you that you have deep feelings about. i think that’s what it means to ‘write from the heart’. for example, someone close to you has died.write a poem drawing experiences and emotions from it in a form of a poem. it may bring back memories that you might not want to revisit but that’s what makes a poem beautiful~when it is written with raw emotion~!

i havent drawn in a while too XD good luck on your art project. you can do it. think of an image or emotion that you want the drawing to evoke…good lucks!

YEAAA the weather has been AMAZING! i wore spring clothes this week! tehehe

Take your time. Really. Take time to feel and find the words to say what’s inside your heart. You can do it! :)

Inspiration is in the vein of epiphany, to experience something simple that yet breathes into you an idea.

The caveat is your awareness (or lack thereof). There are things in plain sight that make poetry, but you will not attain those things unless you’re observational (conscious). I don’t mean that in the boring scientific way, don’t look hard at the world for poetic material. Rather, just be mindful of what’s happening so that you can reflect on it later. And to all the very simple things, which perhaps initially seem meaningless, that have happened – ask why.

Perfume, for instance. Why does that girl smell like a walking stick of bubble gum? Is there no story to that? We do seem to not ever think about it, right? Nonetheless, sometimes a person like that is without an identity – only having one when extracting the identity of those who notice (identity via osmosis).

Or how about how the majority of people walk slowly? Painfully so. They’re not so much people as they are meandering obstacles. I doubt they think that they don’t have a life, or that they don’t like their life, but as we look at them – they’re trudging a nowhere road, always. And so, perhaps they’re nobodies, not living reality but marginality.

Inspiration is merely observing a thing and grasping its hidden value. Just remember that ordinary things have the greatest value, but they require the most observation to see. To master that is to master poetry itself.

Ooh I like the new layout. :) Very simple. :D

Oh yeah so I forgot to reply to your comment but basically: petitioners don’t normally happen in universities because at a university, there’s a person that schedules your class for you. i mean, you pick your classes & then they’ll tell you if they’re full or not but if they’re full, you don’t have the option to petition for them. . .so you’re out of luck & can’t get into that class! you’ll just have to pick a new one. petitioners are more prominent at community colleges since we can pick our classes ourselves & work out our own schedules. i try to stack my classes so that i don’t have school on fridays & have longer breaks on other days like tuesdays & thursdays.

aw i feel the way you do all the time. it’s hard to get things down the way you want it to when you see it differently in your head. :/ i guess you just gotta get the right set of tools/skills/abilities. it’s really frustrating.

sorry to hear about your meh marks for your poetry thing. :/ i suck at poetry. haha but perhaps you haven’t had something too significant in your life affect you so badly that you’ve lost inspiration…?
