The Body Shop

Yesterday was shopping day with Dallas because I haven’t been to the mall in a while and I really missed the mall :P You know how you make a mental shopping list in your mind but the list is always forgotten? Always happens to me. Actually, I got most of what I wanted to get yesterday.

I got a dress. CHECK off the list. New concealer for my beautiful under eye circles. CHECK. The Body Shop Travel Kits that are on sale for $12?! CHECKKK.

Tea tree oil kit, because my mom really likes tea tree oil, it kills bacteria. And the aloe one because it was the last one and apparently its supposed to be soothing and calming. I wanted to get the Vitamin E one because… ITS PINK. No I’m joking… who would get something just cause its pink… (shh….). It was out of stock already :(

But really, original price, $34, I got it for $12 each. BARGAIN WOO.

I opened one of the cream jars and it was only half full. :’( That sucks.

The employees at The Body Shop really tries hard to convince you to buy products. They’re definitely doing their job because they convinced me to buy a membership card… I guess I’ll be visiting the store a lot more from now on.

ALSOO, notice the first picture. Theres a bag behind it? In the city of Toronto, you’re not allowed to give out bags because we’re really trying to do the whole ‘help the environment’ thing. SO, if you’re going shopping and youre purchasing things, you should really have a reusable bag with you, especially during grocery shopping. If not, you’ll be paying an extra 5 cent for each bag. The Body Shop gave me a bag, I think its because its a 100% recycled paper, so I can recycle it :)

I’m looking for a job in the summer. The Body Shop may just be the place. Maybe…

Hello sweetie! How are you? :)
My site is finally back online, even though it took some time to recover. My host suspended my sites so I had to rebuild everything. Thank goodness for backups!

That creme there looks wonderful! And $12 was a real bargain ;) Usually that stuff costs a lot of money. I like recycle bags too: they’re nice, and you can put a lot of stuff inside because they’re usually very big. Paper ones are just as fine. ^_^

*hugs* See you around, and wish you all the luck with finding a job this summer.

Yes, gladly I was able to restore (almost) everything on honey-babe.net ^^” I was scared when I saw the backup being corrupted, but thank goodness for Google cache! I only lost 1 post, I could recover everything else.

Besides, it was really shocking, because I hadn’t been online for WEEKS to study full-time for my Calculus exam (will take it in June) and when I was back I saw all this mess. Wow… I hope it doesn’t happen again. :-/

mhm you always seem to buy makeup haha, i wish u lived by me, i need some makeup advice haha. I have a really big red spot on my nose, so i went to see a dermatoligst and they suggested green makeup. does that make sense? well you probs know what it is lol.
anyway sorry to hear about ur cream:( i hate when stuff like that happen:( and i want a job too:) haha we also have the reusable bags, they take 5 cents off if you use them lol.

and i want some co-ops lol, no fair :( i want to intern somewhere lol. that would really help me to see if i really want to go into, what i want to go into lol.

your blogs are not boring, you have killer pictures:) it’s better then a bunch of words

  4. TJ / Feb 28 2010

your photographs are good because you put enough but not a lot so your blogs dont stretchh lol. and also they are like green foundation to make my face less red haha, does that make sense? and since im a girl makeup is good to talk about lol

i hope to apply for a job once i am 16. haha wish me luck:)

  5. Joy / Feb 28 2010

i’ve never heard of the body shop. The stuff looks good though. $12 from $34 is a deal but i think 12 is still too expensive for me haha! I’m cheap so I usually make my own beauty supplies.

I hope you find a job for the summer too. I know here in the states, they have a program called “summer youth” to help teenagers get summer jobs. It’s a really cool experience.

  6. Georgina / Feb 28 2010

Because I don’t like making an actual shopping list sometimes, I also make a mental shopping list. :P

We have the Body shop here but I don’t know if it’s the same as what you guys have there. :P

Aww that sucks that the pot was only half full. :(

Here in Australia in most shops they won’t give you a bag if you only have a few products (I think like 3 or something). It’s for environmental causes too. It’s nice to bring your own bag too though! :)

I hope you get the job if you choose to apply at the Body shop! ^^

Yeah that’s totally true; skiing can get pretty damn expensive. D:

Oh lol I think I’ve heard of Kid Pix but I don’t think I remember a thing about it at all. XDD

  7. Joanna / Mar 1 2010

Wow $50 bucks isn’t that bad. I thought it would be more expensive.

That’s really cool how you have to use your own reusable bag when shopping. It’ll really motivate shoppers to go green :D They should do that here in CA.

Hooray for bargains!! There the best. But that sucks how it was half full. I’ll be super mad though.

Wow they really persuaded you to get into that membership. I hate when the employees do that though. It annoys me even when they ask you if you need help like a gajillion times. I’m trying to shop here?! Hahaha

Hopefully you get to work there in the summer 8)

  8. Kala / Mar 1 2010

Oh, I love that place – must do some shopping tomorrow :)

  9. Georgina / Mar 1 2010

Haha if my mum had bought that pot, she would have taken it back and gotten pissed that it was only half full. But maybe they just made the containers too big and it’s actually the right weight/volume. :S hmm.

Yeah! ^__^ I was never really a totally “go green” person but it’s really a good thing. My family reuses the plastic bags though; like for bags of rubbish. :P

Yeah it is bad in the view of the plastic bag companies! I never thought of it that way. :X

I literally HAVE TO make a list when I go shopping or out. Like I’m about to make a list right now of what I have left to study and do in my class since I have around 2 hrs left of class. Ugh. Anyway, I have to make lists because if I don’t, I KNOW I will forget everything. Hahahaha. I’m that odd. :)

That sucks that you bought that and it was half full. I would be pissed. There’s nothing I can do though. I bought it. I’d just go there and buy another half full one to make 1 full one! Hahahahaha. :P

I love that enviornmentally friendly thought of Toronto. I’m in the USA and we have NOTHING like that here. Walmart is trying to emphasize it by having their reusable bags but like NO ONE gets them. I don’t see anyone have them when I go to walmart anyway.

    I love your layout. :)

I like The Body Shop. Sometimes the smell of the store gets to me, but overall I like their stuff. Well, I’ve only tried one product, but nevertheless, I really like it. It’s the Vanilla Spice Body Polish (http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/prod878985). I don’t know why they don’t sell it online anymore, but I still have this product. Just a little left. I might actually go back to the store to see if they still sell it or something. It smells great! :) If you’re into this, you should really check it out to see if you’ll like it in store! I think I bought two of what you bought in the pass as little presents for my friends. :) I’m pretty sure they liked it. Enjoy!

It’s Mono and it sucks really bad. :\ I’m so tired…it makes me tired. According to the doctor and online articles about it, I need rest. It’s best to stay in bed or something. :\ Barely doing that because I want/need to study to actually pass the one class I am enrolled in. I just want to do well, so I can get back to the University or attend another University. :\

  12. Junri / Mar 1 2010

I love the Body Shop! Even if I don’t buy anything on some days, just walking by it and smelling the scents makes me feel relaxed.

    That’s so weird of the cream jar to have exactly half missing D;

I love how we’re being environmental with the bags. I feel good when I use reusable bags.

  13. kaitlin / Mar 1 2010

ohhh i love the body shop! although some of their body butters can be expensive, it’s so worth it!
i’m sadly looking for a job too for the summer, i really don’t want to have to work yet, but i’m so broke and hate asking my parents for money DX

  14. Jojo / Mar 1 2010

Awww thanks, yeah I loved the roses ^^

And omg I love the Body Shop! I buy most of my skincare items from there. And I know what you mean about that aloe cream! It was exactly the same when I bought it too! They trick you by putting it in a bigger jar! xD

  15. Luigi | UPrinting / Mar 1 2010

I love body shop’s products also. It’s like if you want comfort products, it’s the to-go store. Really amazing.

  16. tiff k / Mar 2 2010

I do love how Canada is exerting environmental awareness! I hope it’s like that here too… I do love to use reusable bags! hehe :D

THAT IS A BARGAIN!! Nice!! hahaha

And why is the cream only half full? -_-

Hope you find a job there! :D

  17. Cami / Mar 2 2010

Oooh I need a dress. Hey where’s the picture of that! :D
I love Vitamin E. I found it really helpful during that time of the month. :)
It really ticks me off when they put air in the top of the chip bag instead of giving me all my chips. But lotion is something they deffinitely can’t be cheating on.
It would seriously bother me if they charged 5 cents a bag. I don’t think the rest of my town would like it either. My family recycles our plastic grocery bags for garbage bags anyway.
I hope you will get a job. The Body shop sounds really interesting.

  18. Sapphire / Mar 2 2010

hahahaa, yea that always happens with me T_T and homework toooo and everything…*has horrible memory*

wow sweet deal! but what’s with that half full business? are all of them like that are just yours? that really sucks…reminds me of potato chip bags…they have sucha big bag but they’re all 1/2 full -.-

wow toronto has that rule? that’s pretty neat, i must admit. they should have it where i live…save the environment woo~

working in the body shop doesnt sound that bad. look into it ;D

  19. Delilah / Mar 2 2010

I love shopping for body products — at like Bath & Body Works. XD I actually never went to The Body Shop, but I’m guessing it’s pretty similar to B&BWorks.

Eh, people’s jobs at stores are basically to persuade customers to buy their products & stuff. xD And then the products aren’t even what you wanted or isn’t just not good. :)

Hm, that’s strange in Toronto, but maybe not for you guys, ;D But it’s a good idea. Here, we just get our shopping bags. (:

You should get a job there! :D

  20. stevevhan / Mar 2 2010

i like the idea about the bag. Nice one, i hope that there’s also like that kind of policy here in the phils. in order for us to protect the enironment.

I like shopping but when im in the mall, i hate it cause you’ll keep on walking and that will lead to foot ache!…dah!haha.

  22. Christa / Mar 3 2010

I know how you felt, I miss the mall too. All this stupid snow we’ve been stuck in the house or only going to Wal-Mart. Wow, that is a good deal! I don’t like when you get lotion or something like that and when you open it, there’s some missing, but if it’s in sale I’m not going to say a word. I make reusable bags for people, but it’s something to get addicted to very easier because you need to have a bunch of different cute ones. :)

  23. Ariel / Mar 3 2010

I think I saw the tree oil products the last time I went to Body Shop. They were probably the only things that I thought smelt nice. :-P

Here we only have restrictions on plastic bags, and need to spend 1NTD for each. But I never buy one because I’m cheap. x-D

  24. Erin :] / Mar 3 2010

I always end up forgetting what I went to the mall for. But heyy I need some new concealer ! You just reminded me lol . I would’ve been upset if I would’ve opened something I bought and it was halfway gone . . smh

  25. addison / Mar 3 2010

Ahhh! I havent been to the mall in forever! Looks like you got good stuff, though! Never been to The Body Shop, from what I’ve heard its pretty cool(:
What concealer did you get?? And how did The Body Shop stuff work out? The bargain you got is amazing! The half-full jars suck.

    Hope you’re well(:
